Service Description
The Cozumel Pearl Farm Tour is a unique blend of adventure, eco-conservation, and relaxation in a remote part of the Island only accessible by boat. With a maximum of six guests, the tour offers an intimate experience. The farm is the only active pearl farm in the Caribbean. The boat ride itself is beautiful, with the stunning azure waters of Cozumel surrounding you, and once you arrive, you'll be greeted by the friendly owners who are passionate about their pearl farming project. You'll have plenty of time to snorkel (equipment provided) over the active pearl farm and an artificial reef teeming with lots of sea fans and colorful fish. Relax in a hammock, beach comb, swim and enjoy freshly cooked pineapple burgers and snacks. The tour includes an orientation on how the oysters are stimulated to produce their beautiful precious fruit, “the white pearl.” This breed of oyster is not edible but characteristically has a stunning iridescent inner shell (nacre or "mother of pearl") which you will be invited to view. A nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve the Tour Guide. We recommend the balance to be paid in cash USD upon arrival. Visa/MasterCard is accepted upon arrival. Credit cards incur an 8% Mexican business fee. Additional Information • For safety reasons pregnant women (5 months and up) can’t participate in any of our aquatic programs. Women with less than 5 months into their pregnancy can participate in the Encounter program only if accompanied by another adult and after signing a Responsibility Form. • If you have any health or physical disability, please contact us before you make your reservation so we can provide you full information about our services. • Please use biodegradable sunscreen to protect the environment and marine species. • Bring towels and cash for taxis, shopping, meals, etc.
